"Blessed Through The Blessing"

Since the July 25, 2009, Henan Kids International has made great strides in blessing the orphans of Henan.  This has been accomplished through the love and giving of you, the ones who have chosen to bless another.

Of course our work will not be done until every orphan in Henan is cared for.  This road may seem never ending, and sometimes even daunting, but just like the rain drops that make up the mighty rivers; we too have the force to move mountains.

2011 HKI Calendars

The HKI 2011 calendar sale was a huge success!  Last year's sale raised $1875 to help the children of Henan, and the goal for this year's sale was to reach $3000.  It is thrilling to announce that over $4000 was raised this year, and that money will go directly to help the beautiful children of Henan.  Please look for the next newsletter in 2011 for a complete report on how the money is being used.

Incubators

Because of the increase of preemies being abandoned, there has been a huge need for incubators. The orphanages cannot afford to take the babies to the hospital for treatment. We were able to purchase THREE incubators for Kaifeng, Pingdingshan, and Zhoukou. And thanks to all of you, lots of little babies now have a chance at life!>

Bouncy Seats 

We were also able to purchase, thanks to the Haskin family and their church, bouncy seats for a brand new orphanage. This orphanage had nothing to put their little ones in.

Now these little ones won’t have to lie on the floor; they’ll have bouncy seats!

We have also purchased equipment, games, and furniture for a foster activity center in LuoYang. This will be a place where foster families can bring their children to play, socialize, etc. We will post pictures soon!

KaiFeng Orphanage

Thanks to those who helped, Henan Kids International raised $1400 for the purchase of a hot water heater and air conditioner for use at the KaiFeng orphanage.

AnYang

We are happy to announce that HKI was able to purchase a photocopier and color printer for the Anyang SWI.  They did not have either machine and needed them greatly in order to accomplish the administrative tasks associated with running an orphanage. 

2010 Calendar Sales

HKI sold 150 of the 2010 calendars.  The fundraiser brought in $1871 to help the children of Henan.  Thanks to all who contributed pictures, time and effort to make this project such a success.  We hope that everybody who receives one of these very special calendars enjoys it, and that they are reminded of all the kids in Henan throughout the coming year.

Other Accomplishments

We also raised $3000 for surgeries for the children in Henan.

But there is more that we must do.  More children to be sponsored, and more foster care funds needing to be raised.  And we also have some immediate needs like the milk fund, medical needs fund, LOCC rooms funds, diaper rash cream, and training for the caregivers.  Check out our newsletter for the latest updates, stories, and ideas on how you like a rain drop can make a huge difference!
